There are 45.3 million adult smokers in the United States, and each day, another 1,000 people younger than age 18 become daily smokers. Almost 70 percent of smokers want to quit smoking, but many try and fail. Friends and family can lend a helping hand by offering support and encouragement to the smokers in their lives. Let today be the day you tell someone you care!

Join the National Cancer Institute in supporting smokers of all ages who are trying to quit smoking for the Great American Smokeout—a day when we can unite to help people quit smoking.
